Forest and Wildland Fires - International Conference
On September 8–9, 2026, a conference will be held at the Poznań International Fair, marking the culmination of a project carried out by the State Fire Service in collaboration with the Pau Costa Foundation. This will be an opportunity to summarize the results, present best practices, and discuss the future of fire management in non-urban areas.
The growing threat of wildfires in non-urban areas calls for a new approach to firefighter training, the exchange of experiences, and international cooperation. In response to these challenges, the project “Strengthening the Capacity of Firefighters in Combating Wildfires” was launched as part of the Erasmus+ program by the National Fire Service Headquarters and the Spanish foundation Fundació Pau Costa.
The project aims to strengthen the competencies of firefighters and experts through the exchange of knowledge, the development of skills, and the building of a European cooperation network to address the challenges posed by climate change.
